Dear Samaj Bandhavas,
As you all know that the recent floods in the Maharashtra have caused massive destruction of life & property. People have lost their dear ones, live stocks, agricultural produce, homes along with everything they had in it. Some of our Mandal members, who had visited Mahad & Chiplun to provide relief material on behalf of "GSB Seva Mandal, Sion, Mumbai", have withnessed the havoc first-hand. As responsible citizens of this State, our committee felt that it was our moral responsibility to help atleast a few families to stand again on their feet. Besides, The Charity Commissioner (Govt. of Maharashtra) has published an Appeal to all Charitable Trusts to lend a helping hand to victims of this calamity. Hence the Committee has decided that our Mandal will provide some basic essential items like gas stoves, bottled drinking water, clothes, medicine, shed material (like MS pipes, roofing sheets etc). This list was drawn after a brief survey among few affected families. The relief material procurement is in progress and the same will be distributed early this week itself. The cost of material alongwith transportation & handling is estimated to be near about Rs.3 Lakhs.
We earnestly appeal to our Samaj Bandhavas to donate generously for this noble cause. The donations to our Mandal are eligible for exemption u/s 80G of Income Tax Act.
